What is the best way to complete your training course from the office?

Unow training courses are designed to be carried out during working hours. However, taking part in a remote training course, while you are at the office, can sometimes be challenging.

Here are some tips to help you make sure that your session goes as smoothly as possible.

Set a time and work at your own pace

Although you have access to your modules at any time, well structured organization is key if you want to prevent yourself from becoming overwhelmed (and if you want to be sure you get a few hours sleep!).

Allocate a time slot (2 - 3 hours per module) to focus on your course each week. Enter this in your calendar to make it official. If you are taking an internal training course, you can also find a time to complete your course at the same time as your colleagues!

Tip: Unow training modules provide you with the average amount of time you will need to work through the content: you can refer to this to help you plan your workload.

Visualize your goals

We are well aware that your training course might not always be at the top of your priority list. However, don't less this stop you from getting your certificate!

You can adapt your level of participation to suit your goals and motivation. You don't need to complete every single activity to complete a module, but if you want to get the most out of this course, you are strongly encouraged to try to complete them all.

Adapting your workspace

You'll find it hard to focus on your course if you're in a noisy open space, or an office where you are constantly interrupted by phone calls or questions from colleagues.

If your company does not have a dedicated quiet space, you can create your own environment that is conducive to training, and take steps to ensure that you will not be disturbed (warn your colleagues beforehand, wear headphones, etc.) The best is to create a tidy space (without piles of paper, or multiple tabs open on your computer) and ensure you have a good internet connection.

Interact with your course mates

Do you tend to feel alone, where it's just you and your computer screen? However, remember that you are taking this course with other people: everyone has a different profile, but they all have the same objectives as you! It's worth taking the time to read and respond to their comments so you can all share your knowledge and experience. You will also have the chance to interact with your course mates and course leader in real time, during your online workshops.

What if I don't have enough time?

Time management can sometimes be more difficult than the final exam! To help you keep on top of everything, track your progress. This will help you see what you've already accomplished and what you still have to do!

Avoid working in a hurry or for long periods of time in one go, and don't forget to take breaks.

Tip: The platform automatically takes you to your most recent page, so you can pick up where you left off.

If you are running behind, don't worry! You will automatically be given 2 additional weeks to catch up on the content and prepare for the final exam, before you receive your much-deserved certificate.

Remember that to complete your training, you only need to achieve the 4 badges related to the end of module quizzes, and pass the final exam. Your attendance at the online workshops, and the completion of activities and challenges is highly recommended, but not compulsary.

If you were not able to take the exam before the end of the course, don't worry about this either! You can find out more information about this, here.
